Report: CNN is ugly

CNN ran a little item today asserting that “In just a brief one-twentieth of a second — less than half the time it takes to blink — people make aesthetic judgments that influence the rest of their experience with an Internet site.” Here’s a screen shot of the item as it appeared:

I can only assume that CNN did not intend for the entire reading experience to drip with irony — that its designers did not recognize the blatant wake-up call they were slapping up between those nasty ads. I don’t like to be the bearer of bad news, CNN, but it appears that ordinary people know what ugly looks like. And, CNN, you are ugly.
